I have a 71 Maverick that has the 250. I am wishing to swap in a 5.0/AOD and I am retaining the electronics. I need a set of Frame mounts for a 302. Auto-Krafters is out of them at this time. I wonder if it would be hard to fabricate them? From the illustrations I have seen, they do not look that complicated. I am also considering a 4.6 modular. That would me more fabrication, I know. What do you guys think???

Ebay or junkyards is your best bet for frame mounts. You'll also want the transmission frame mount for dual exhaust clearance although you 6 cyl one will work in a pinch. There is a guy who is supposed to start reproducing them hopefull sometime this year.

New transmission cross members are also available thru Auto Krafters for the V-8 swap.

    I am also considering a 4.6 modular.

The modular motor is almost as wide as a big block, requires surgery to the shock towers, but it would be different.
