I was looking at a Brazilian Maverick photo and saw what looked like late 80's Escort power mirrors on a Mav. Anybody ever try these? It looks like the angle of the base is right on the units I've seen, but I've never had one in my hands to check it out. Any Escort owners out there (who aren't afraid to admit it) who can confirm this?
TAXI All ready dun did it . There some pic in my gallery . I used the complete set up wiring and switches in my mav . jay
I just picked up a set of these from the junkyard this morning, can't wait to mock em up, did you use a template mavdog, or just eyeball it? i got the connectors, and switch as well. So when i install em they'll be powered.
i think i seen that pic they looked a little too out of place to me. i could spot right away they came off of something mid-90's
GGR I didn't use a templet I mounted the escort mirriors where the sport mirrior were on the door used the hole on driver side door to run the wires through ( make sure the wires don't get in the way of the window ) . I also made a large doubler to mount mirrior to on the back side of the door . I used the escort door switch to control the mirriors mounted it about where the manuel mirrior control is on the door .The control mounting bezel I made a mod to I cut the mounting stud off file tham flat dirlled a small hole through ( # 6 size ) and counter sunk the front side for the screws to mount the switch. Will post pictures soon. Jay

I have one more question I pulled the power ones out of a Mustang Convt and the power switch is the square one that went in the center console. The square dual function type. So I will have to close the hole on the door. The mirrors have two studs with nuts that mounted them to the door. Didi you just reach up into the door with the panels off to secure the mirrors to the doors, or am i missing something?
GGR To mount the mirriors to the doors you may need to drill new mounting holes .I used a peace of metal to make a doubler a little larger than the base of the mirrior to keep the mirrior from viabrating . The square switch I didn't try to use . I thought the escort switch look like it should have been used in the car when the car was new . Yes use the studs to mount the mirriors jay
How about mounting a tweeter in the hole? Make it a little bigger? Do any of you have pics of the passenger side? Anybody paint them body color? More pics! More pics! I really like the functionality of this mod.
