I have a 1973 maverick with a 302, if i get a 90's mustang 5.0 5 speed will it fit in my maverick? and will i have to cut a new hole for the shifter or does it line up?

Mine was a three on the tree car,but i cut my hole just a little bigger than the factory dimples that were on the hump [i assume where a floor shifter would go].But that would be about the last stage i would worry about,it should be very close. Also do a ''Search'' on the forum for t5 info there are lots of posts about swap info.Derek.

If you already have a auto floor shifter all you have to do is trim out the hole just alittle toward the front and on the sides. I dont think I had to trim the back. You have to make a crossmember or modify the double hump stock one (which is what I did) for the trans and trim the floor brace to get it to sit just right.

there is a brace in the trans tunnel that you will most likely need to trim, I removed about 4" in the center, and you will likely need to drop the trans cross member about 7/8" down, other than that, not too bad of a swap. You'll also need either a hydralic or cable clutch linkage
