Ive seen several old high miliage but still running 429's go from 400-600ish, since it runs strong and has low miles i'd guesstimate 800 or so. Ive heard of the old 429 CJ's goin for a couple grand tho. I know my cousin dropped a strong running 429 into a Mercury Capri, the thing is gonna be a beast when he get finished with it. If you could get it cheap it might be worth havin or tryin to re-sell it.

If it's a '72-up, it's not any more valuable than a 460 from a performance standpoint, especially the '72s-the D2VE heads are a 1 year only design and are prone to detonation(the D3VEs are actually better heads). '69-71 non CJ probably worth $600-800 w/low miles & running. '72-up about half that.

Could you give us the date codes off the heads. that would tell us a little more about the engine
