found bell need info

    What tranny are you using?
    What year is the 289? (Looking to see if it is a 5 or 6 bolt bell, big difference.)

    If the 289 block in question is a 6 bolt bell pattern, you have many options for a bell.
    It can come off of:
    289 6 bolt block
    302
    351w
    351c
    255

    That covers the block side.
    You also MUST make sure it fits the tranny you are using.
    Only use a part that came from a car.
    Truck bells varied widely over the years and some of the differences are very small to see, but big enough to damage parts. So even if a truck bell looks like it works for your combo, steer clear. It may, but is it worth the trouble?
