does anyone know where i can purchase a new fuel tank for a 1972 comet?
    will a later model fit?
i can find them for a 75 76 77 was wondering if they would interchange.
or does anyone on here have a goood used one that they would sell?

The 75-77 tank will fit. You will need longer Carriage bolts to get the straps to fit. You also need to use the later vapor vent on top of the tank.

    .

ok thank you very much, the later models are larger capacity tanks i assume. is the reason . again thanks for info.
i did pull tank from the comet and cleaned it out and reinstalled it after cleaning it and cleaning the pick up i got fuel flowing now so i may not need a tank now. engine ran fine as wine. so if i didnt miss anything in tank perhaps i got lucky and wont have to buy one.:chirp:

NAPA also carries them. They are all made by the same company so it doesnt matter where you get it from.
