Will a 1971 gas tank fit in my 1970 mav? My tank requires bolts around it but the 71 looks like it takes straps! please help me out. Thanks!
nope. 69.5-70 are installed with bolts through the trunk, the 71`-up are installed with straps from the bottom.
Thanks! Do you know where or what i can use instead? The gas tanks is the only thing keeping me from driving it around.
unfortunately, unless someone else knows different, the early Maverick tanks are unique and I don't think they are reproduced. Do a thread search on fuel tank installs on this site and see what you come up with. A lot of members have upgraded and have all different solutions.
