getting a 70 maverick to put all of my 72's stuff on it

    tomorrow i am buying a 70 Inline-6 3 speed mav to swap all of my parts from my wrecked 72 v8 mav

    parts i will be swaping and if you know of any problems when swaping it let me know

    motor mounts and 302

    will the t5 trans fit in the tunnel ( had no problems on the 72 )

    rear end

    any other info on things to swap over ?

    Engine,mounts,rear end will all swap over.Trans tunnel is more narrow.Not sure about a t-5,but with a c-4 it's a tight fit.I have seen some 69.5/70 maverick's without the provision's for the belly bar,but that's an easy fix.As for everything else,You should be fine.Hope this helps.:)

    If you have a double hump trans crossmember, in your 72, it may not fit the 70. I got one for mine years ago and, if I remember, the holes didn't line up as there was no V8 in 70.

    Yep, it double hump won't bolt up to the holes that are there, but it's super easy to drill more holes and bolt it up.

    i had to get another mav i really didn't want something other then that :huh:

    witch i got lucky on this one the last owner had a guy on the next block that was about to do a v8 swap on it but then the owner could not find the v8 mounts or did not want to pay the price for them ? and he was working on a 67 cougar so he asked if i wanted to buy it (so i jumped on it) got it for $475 bucks :Handshake
