I'm looking to replace the suspension of my car so I can upgrade from stock drum breaks to disk breaks. I've been told I'm able to interchange the front end of a Ford Granada, but I was wondering if it's possible to use the rear end as well. I know the Lincoln Versailles has a rear end that's compatible, but I was hopping the Granada has the same compatibility.

I replaced my stock 4 lug front drum brake setup on my 69.5 Maverick with 5 lug disc brake assemblies from a Granada and everything bolted right up. My 9 inch disc brake rear also came out of a Granada Ghia and also bolted right in. It is just a little bit wider than the stock Maverick rear. Not all 9 inch rears, that were optional in Granada & Monarchs, were disc brake rears. Most had 8 inch rears with drum brakes which you already have in your Maverick. (y)

Awesome! Thanks. So, mav1970, what year was the Granada? I heard the 78's the one I'm looking for. Also, does it use fourteen inchers? Thanks again.

You need to get the front discs from the earlier, more common, Granada. The very latest built Granada's changed over to Fox body platforms and had struts.

Some one on the forum can help with the years I'm talking about - I'm not sure.

I don't know what year my 9 inch came out of. I bought it from a guy that had it on the floor of his garage.

You would be looking for parts from a 75 to 80 Granada-Versailles-Monarch. These are the years that are similar to the Maverick-Comet.

81 - 82 were the years where they changed over to the Fox platform and the parts won't fit.

    I just looked it up.

And Yes, the Granada's came stock with 14 inch tires but the bolt pattern will accept 15 inch also.

Sweet! Thanks a lot, hopefully I can find a Granada in my area for cheap so I can finally get some disk breaks. Oh! One last thing, they did come with disk breaks, right?

Most Granadas had disc brakes in front but drums on the rear. Once in a while you'll find a disc brake rear but it's not common. All Lincoln Versailles had disc brake rears but they are becoming scarce as well. You might be better off watching ebay as someone will be selling front disc conversion parts.

ALL 75-80 Granada/Monarch cars had disc brakes in the front. most had 8" rear ends, some had 8.5" rear ends that has a plate on the back (stay away from these) and very few had 9" rears with rear disc brakes.
