Having engine heat issues - need advice

    I have to agree that 10 degrees at idle was usually the stock settings,i think mine is at 13 or 14 at idle and at about 35 degrees full advance.id hook up a temp gauge and then you can see actual temperature

    how rusty is block? if it had crud in it may have clogged radiator over time.

    I would suggest that you get a temp gauge. Without one you are shooting in the dark.

    I added a temp gauge and discovered car was getting to 230 before I would get off highway. I bled the cooling system but have not had a chance to test. I am focused on finishing my 1970 Mach 1 restore at moment. I will provide update when I have one.
