My uncle has a Calypso Corral '69 Boss 302 and that color really pops in the sun and looks great with the black Boss stripes.

I painted a '90 LX 5.0 Mustang coupe that color several years ago and it looked great. If I was painting a Maverick or Comet that had black interior it would be Calypso Corral.

I would vote for Calypso Corral, but since you said you wanted a little more orange you are probably leaning towards the correct color.

Roger, my car is Grabber Yellow. It's closer to the colour of a Post-It Note, rather than an 'orangey' yellow like Grabber Orange.

Thanks for clarifying that for me Paul, I am still hunting the "any" key to do a hard reset on my brain :90:

It is a funny color. When parked with another orange or red, it looks yellow but when it gets near a real yellow it looks orange, like orange juice orange. I choose it for my '72 when it hadn't been around since the early '70s. But since the color was brought back for the Mustang, I would go with a darker orange if I had to do it over again. Don't get me wrong, I love it as a Maverick color - I just hate it when someone says "Oh, your car is painted like the new Mustang" :90:

My "frame" will soon get a single stage orange version of Calyspo Coral as shown above. I can still change the color a little for for the final clear coated finish. After 2 days of looking at colors and comments, I'm starting to lean more towards Calypso Corol which is not far off the color I chose above. But I have a red 1951 ford pickup that is too orange and I don't want an orange 1971 Maverick that is too red! Has anyone tried putting metallic flakes (or similar effect) into Calypso Coral or similar original 1970's paint? If so, let me know how it turned out (pics if possible).

Have you considered 96 mustang tangerine clearcoat? I painted my 62 Falcon that color and I get tons of compliments.

What was the code in 72? Didn't Ford add a number?
