    bog,,

well, bog is from a few things,,first, lean, just cuz lots of fuel is there, it could be lean jets,,second, low floats,,third timing, fourth vacume leaks..its a holley 600 vcs carb? well, probably the jets, and vac sec spring is not tight enough,,if you have to loose a spring it opens right up,and causes a bog, and backfires and kills the motor..you are high in colorado right, you have to adjust to those climate, more lean on the jets,,when you are above sea level air becomes thinner, and fuel needs good air,,so lean them out more, adjust the bowls and check timing, you may want to work with sprayers from the throttle pump,,and get different shooters.. this combination at one thing at a time will figure you out,,then you will be fine,,remember 1 thing to change at a time, and go on from there, carbs are tough to tune high up,,be patient, its tough,,goood luck.tom

    ok

I finally got under the hood.... My accelerator pump cam is pink. It wasn't sending fuel till half throttle, like someone said. I simply adjusted it to its second hole. Now it squarts fuel right away. I only tested it in park but it seems to have done the trick. I appreciate all the help and will probably look in to some other upgrades that were mentioned. Thanks again...it seems that it was the accelerator cam was miss adjusted.

fth73, i had the same problem with a timing pointer, i found top dead center ( easy to do as i had the heads off), marked the dampner, then took a piece of #6 ground wire and curved the end into a circle. i then hammered the end flat and bolted to one of the front cover bolts. then i ran it to the mark and bent it 90 degrees.to cover the mark on the dampner. hope this helps.:)
