pics of the outside should be on their way tomorrow.would like to thank mavaholic for posting these for me. drive safe. chuck.
Nice car, inline6. Craig -- what's with that half moon horn ring? The horn "button" on my car is only the wheel "hub" from one side to another. I guess that means that 70 Mavs had 3 different horn set-ups, counting the rim-blow wheel? Speaking of a rim-blow horn, anyone have one for sale? Thanks. Tom
The horn ring was done on the first production run along with the dash mounted ignition switch. 2 distinct features of what we call the 69 1/2.
I see who got the real find! Congratulations Mavaholic, my Monarch catch can't hold a candle to your Maverick! You were in the right place at the right time. $300.00 you must have put that part in just to make everyone else sick... well I am anyway. Way to go, I know that if the car needed a home good it now as one. What a find!!!!!!!!!!!!! Terry Gates AKA Bossmav
ummmm? I thought the car was inline6 car? mavaholic was just hosting the pics??? am I mistaken? and boy my mav must be a 691/2 then because I got the that same horn setup and the dash mounted ignition cooooool I feel special now man u guys I really want to send some pics of my interior but no digital cam
Welcome to the fold. I,also, am not far away from you in Western PA. You need to keep in touch with the cruises next season so we can hook up. The 2nd Western PA. Mav Meet will be August 23 & 24 in Butler County. It will be a great one so put it on your calendar for next summer. I don't know if you were involved with the car scene prior to getting your Mav, but there's a LOT going on in our region from spring to late fall. I'm on the staff of Hot Rod News and I'm trying to put the Mavs in the limelight as much as possible. Feel free to e-mail me and Russ anytime and if you need anything, we'll be there. Get that application for the club and send it in. Keep in touch!!
hi wes,and thanks for the invite.i will be joining the club next week.me and my wife used to go to car meets, she would take her 71 boss 351 and my 72 mach 1.until i sold mine last summer wasn't really a club though, just a bunch of locals bringing their classics and rods.august 23-24,i should be ready by then.starting next week i am going to be totally stripping down the car, down to the last bolt.rebuilding and refurbishing everything,to showroom condition.motor is coming out friday evening and the head sent out for some hardend valve seats.are their any companies that sell aftermarket parts for the maverick?something like what national parts depot does for the mustang?i haven't had any luck finding anything on the net.also anyone have any pics of their restored 1970 maverick engine bay,and straight six? want to try to get some fresh ideas.thanks again wes for the invite and info.definetly something to mark on the calander. take care and be safe...chuck.
Chuck; AutoKrafters is the best source, and Maverick Connection is another. You can find links on the web site main page. AutoKrafters is a bit high, but when you can't find a part, a few bucks seems like a deal. Haven't done any business with Maverick Connection, but plan to in the future. Good luck with the Mav. Earl
My bad Sorry about that inline6, I thought the car was Mavaholic's. I'm sure that everyone here is glad to see you come on board and we will help in any way we can. Great find on the Maverick, and I'm sorry I didn't read the lines right. Good luck with the Mav! Terry Gates AKA Bossmav
Hi everyone, New Maverick owner. Just wanted to say HI to all you Maverick owners out there and that there are good buys to be had if you look long enough. I purchase a 75 Grabber 302 3sp car about a month ago. It's Yellow with the black stripes and black bucket seat interior which is in nice shape. The paint is worn but no body damage or rust! It even has the magnum 500's still on the car. Been in the family sense new. They had the car up for sale for several months with no lookers. They kept lowering the price and I guess I was in the right place at the right time because I drove the baby home for $500.00 and all I needed to do was replace the clutch. My wife said it's her car so guys look out when brining home a toy! You may have to share. So remember, great deals are out there. grabber302
