Hello I have a 76 maverick with a bench seat and im looking for some bucket seats that i can put in it. Where can i find cheap bucket seats? Will the original rails work with it?

Hmmm. Very good question, and several of us are wondering the same thing.

I have been shopping for decent buckets for almost 4 years. It seems that even the expensive ones from jegs are difficult to install.

Look up MaverickMan and follow the links to his website. He has a link to "How to Install Bucket Seats". Once you have the bucket seat brackets (the VERY hardest part of this project is finding some), then most ford seats, possibly others will fit with his modification or something similar.

Be careful what you buy. I bought some beautiful honda seats. Mint condition, very comfortable, maybe 4 years ago and put one to the curb for the garbage man yesterday. The bracket that mounts it to the floor was not detachable and was built into the actual seat frame, so I spent several tens of hours cutting chunks of frame away and still ended up with junk when I was done.

I am looking at some escort seats at the local junk yard that are a little wider, but would unbolt easily and bolt in if I follow MaverickMan's instructions.

By the way, what part of Houston? I am in Angleton, 30 miles south on 288.

Out near Pasadena, there are several "pull your own parts" type places. Near spencer hwy. You pay a fee to enter and then dig around and pull some seats. I think I paid only $25 for the pair of honda seats.

Otherwise, there are several Escorts down here, including the one I was looking at. He wanted $75 for the pair a couple weeks back. You could probably do better than that closer to town.

That is kinda how it works. Trial and error, and make good measurements before you get to the junk yard. Feel free to PM me and we can share hunting stories, maybe snag some seats for each other(y)
