How about we create a list of parts that will work off of a 4 door for a 2 door. I am going to part out a 4 door and need to know some of this info myself! I got a junker for $100 to take parts off and the glass and stuff might fit other Mav's etc to help them stay on the road. I would like to keep as many on the road as possible. Too bad this 4 door is so bad off. rear 1/4 badly damaged and quite a few other problems.... but
hopefully we could get some parts off of it that would help out fellow Maverick people. :D

The statement about everything forward from the dash up being the same is correct. The body and interior parts from there back are different. The bumpers are the same and lights, etc. The trunk lids are not compatible. The quarter extentions are not the same either.

Bench seats interchange (but the 2-door ones fold--a bonus)
Windshields are the same (pretty sure on this one)

Not sure about the back seats...

With the exception of a notch in the front bottom edge, which has nothing to do with bolting them on, they are all the same. How exactly were they too short? The 74 fenders have a bolt on extension on the front bottom. If you didnt remove this from the 74 and put it on the 70 fender, they will look short near the bottom front. This is the only thing I can think of. There again, that is a bolt on item. The notch would have to be filled if going newer or cut out of going older.
