First thing to consider -- If ur fan is running constantly, U might have issues w/ keeping the battery charged w/ stock 45/55 amp alt.
#2. I wud suggest getting one of the less expensive electronic fan controllers w/ a radiator mounted temp sensor.
#3. 71Gold posted a simple circuit w/ a fuse and toggle switch if your not using elec. controller. Make sure 30 amp fuse is as close to battery/power source as possible.
#4. If your not to competent doing elec. wiring -- might try to get someone reasonably competent to assist.

It will most likely Drop Out! I had that issue a few years ago when I had my coils drop out on my fan relay hooked to low current under hood source; luckily, I was not far from home.
It worked fine for about a year, one day the fan just stop working because of varying current to the relay. Put it on constant 12v source and no issues in 5 yrs.

My dad has been doing this stuff for the past 6 years, he's been helping me with everything! His first car was a '66 Fairlane and he worked on car's in the 60's and early 70's when he was in high school, and picked it up a few years ago as his line of work. :D

But, he's also the person who had me originally connect the positive cable to the Solenoid, so you never know, dude. I guess we're all still learning. Today I'm going out and buying thicker wire to run the positive cable (I'll be using 10 gauge), and I'm also going to be buying a circuit breaker to splice in the line for the fan too.

Regarding keeping the car battery charged : I've been running the car for probably two or three days now using the fan I have now, and it seems to work. I bought a "kit" from Championship Cooling that says was made specifically for 250 CI and small block V8 Mavericks, so I don't think I'll have to worry about anything.

And the fan isn't running constantly, just whenever the car is in accessory mode or is running. Right now I'm just concerned about any fire hazards I might have.

If you dudes have any advice for how I should be connecting everything, let me know. But I think that connecting the fan to the fuse with a breaker in the middle might be alright.
