I finally found some and picked up two a few weeks ago. I have the plain tires one, and the white letter one. Maybe I'll find a White Lightning soon. They're pretty awesome! :)

I've seen the Johnny Lightning Mad Mavericks at Wal-Mart. I've also seen other car replicas (Camaro's, Cuda's etc.) produced in more of a hot rod type look in the local auto parts stores. It seems all the Mavericks are in some kind of odd formations, like two engines or funny car set ups. Is there any out there that are more stock looking like a Grabber?

This is crazy. I am having a more difficult time spotting a Johnny Lightening Maverick than I do the real thing!!

I have literally searched every toy shop I have been in in so cal, as has my mother in law, my wife and my sister in law. NOTHING!!

Sure I could order it from their site right??? But then that would just kill the thrill of the chase.

Try Kay-Bee Toys. The ones in Georgia usually have a whole shelf full of them 3 for $5.00. I bought 3 Mad Mavericks there not along ago. Strangely - everytime I see them in this store they ONLY have the purple ones .... Guess that color was the slow seller since Kay-Bee usually only sells overstock and discontinued toys ...
