I have had the windshield installed 3 times, siliconed a crack above the drip rail where the inner and outter roof join together, plugged up 4 holes in the firewall, ran a hose through the cowl vents (no leaky cowl) - and still have a trickle at a seam way up under the dash. I ran the hose over the front passenger side fender and water started trickling in. I stuck my hand way up behind the dash and just started pulling out handfuls of rust.

I'm getting closer to finding the leak. But once I find it on the passenger side, then I have to start on the driver's side.

    THIS IS DRIVING ME NUTS!

    Any advice??

The seam sealer on the A pillars down to the torque box area dries up and cracks real bad. Never mind the lousy job they did putting it on in the first place. You'd have to pull the inner fender shield and likely the fender to get at it and fix it properly.

Yep that's what I was afraid of. I'm not too confident that this is a job for me to do... but a friend of mine said he might be able to work on it during the winter. I guess all I can do is hope for a very minimal amount of rain til October....

and out of all the silly smilies, there is nothing to represent ::fingers crossed:: LOL!!

The fender isn't too bad to do, even for a novice, just tape all of the edges so you don't scratch anything and having the extra set of hands helps quite a bit.

Let me tell you about a Windshield experiance i had... I bought an Aftermarket brand new windshield about 4 years ago and had it installed and uninstalled 4 times... turns out the windshield was smaller in length and diameter then the original, even ordered 2 different ones to make sure it wasnt just a bad one... went and bought an original carlight windshield no problems.

If you put your hand behind the dash and pulled out handfuls of rust, I'd bet your cowls are rusted. Major job there. Do a search for cowl repair.

Good advice! My left side is bad, I've just been lazy and haven't fixed it yet. I keep the car under roof, so it's not a big issue to me. I have been caught in our Florida downpours before, so that's why I keep a towel to throw down on the floor when it leaks!:)

If your ever in the central jersey area I'll help you track down the leak. I'm assuming your the one I texted about the windshield glass on Craigslist?

Yep, that's me! I used to work in Rockaway - So I know it takes an hour and 15 minutes to get THERE. How much further are you? I think I was taking exit 114 off 287. I could be wrong on that number though.. its been a while.

Same thing here, I've had new rubber gaskets installed front and rear and both resealed by Safelite. In a hard downpour water dribbles from the top center of the windshield/headliner and the back glass/headliner. Like above, I carry a couple towels...

My current windshield has a massive crack running down through the middle behind my rearview, and across the drver's side

I have no idea. The shop I work at is in Neptune and its exit 100 off of the parkway.
