sarah, i keep looking at the hot wheels and haven't seen any, but that could be because my store dosen't order them. isn't that blue one a hot wheels that comes in the 10 pack? havent seen that pack at my stores either.

Hot Wheels in the last year or two has only made 3 Mavericks and they were all limited edition ... never for sale in stores ... they are on eBay all the time though ... The Zinger is a Johnny Lightning and was only available in a 10 pack of cars.

Are there any other stores that I should obsess about going to to look for Maverick and Comet models other than Walmart, Walgreen and Toysrus?
    Thanks!

I always just cruise by the models, etc whenever I am in any store that carries such--Ya never know when you might stumble on one. I check K Mart, Target and so on. I always go there saying "I probably WON"T find one"--that way I am not disappointed, but once at DID find just one LONE red Stallion. I felt like I'd won some kind of lottery! Cheers and Luck to YA! what about the diecast by tiger wheels? I have all of them except the sprint. They are all unopened but look like the same tooling as the fresh cherrys. I googled them and found several hits were they were still listed for sale( at least some of them).

Wow. I had noticed that my local Wal-Marts had sold out of all their plastic model kits and hadn't re-stocked but wasn't sure they were actually doing away with them entirely. That sucks. While their selections stunk, they had by far the best prices. I guess kids just don't build them much anymore - too many video games...

Motormax told me about midway through the development process that they probably weren't going to use the chrome Magnum 500-type wheels. I had suggested them since that was the closest thing to one of the original Stallion wheels that they already produced. I was trying to save them some tooling costs to get them to produce the Stallion. I tried a set from their Boss 429 Mustang kit on a Maverick diecast and they are just too big and appear out of scale, worse than the prototype photo shows. Plus they didn't allow the cars to roll. So Motormax chose those late model Mustang wheels due to their fit.

I cannot say for certain whether the Stallion or any of the other Maverick or Comet diecasts will ever be offered with any other wheels, but they haven't indicated to me that they will, so I wouldn't count on it. I think it will be up to buyers to customize them themselves if they want very many different wheels and such.

Finally got around to the local wal mart. Since it was aftyer christmas, I found a complety ravaged toy car section. Found four or five small fresh cherries on the floor. A pacer, a pinto, a gremlin, a gremlin x, and aother pacer. Underneath the shelf there was one white maverick. On the shelf with the 1/24 models, I found one fresh cherries model. It was the comet, I got a champane clored one. I am going to check toys r us soon, im sure most of them are gone. I was supries to find one at the wal mart... Try the walgreens to right?

    A few more questions:
Are the 1974 Grabbers all unboxed or boxed?
Do they come in both American Graffiti and Fresh Cherries packaging?
Do the Stallions come as FC and AG as well, both colors?
What colors, other than primer, of Mavericks and Comets are in unassembled kits?

That list I posted was the way they were originally released and at the time it was not known whether Motormax would ever release some colors individually boxed. People claim to have found most of the colors individually boxed now. I haven't even been able to buy some of the colors individually boxed direct from Motormax; at least not yet.

So far, I've seen or heard about white, red, and orange 74 Grabbers being individually boxed. So far, I've only seen or heard about them being in American Grafitti boxes.

So far, I've seen or heard about the Stallions coming in both the American Grafitti box AND Fresh Cherries box. The Stallions I sell are in a black Motormax box.

I've heard about several colors of the Mavericks and Comets now coming in the unassembled kit boxes as well as the primered ones. I've only had white and yellow Mavericks and the honey gold (almost silver) Comets myself, but I've seen reports of more.

There are also Sweet Cherries boxes which seem to have been a Toys R Us exclusive. I've heard that line has already been discontinued, but cannot confirm that.

If I actually confirm any more colors or models with Motormax, I'll post them. Happy Hunting!
