Major set back AGAIN!!

    Really hard to say. I could swear that there are bolts that have not been touched. I took a rod cap off and it's .025.. BUT, that don't mean they didn't just slap some over sized bearing onto my crank that had 250k on it. I just don't know.. It does look like it spun a bearing though.
    I :smash: on it for little more than 8 hours today and it don't show. Most of the day was spent on my back.

    Actually, I was referring to whether you'd had time to check your block's serial number against the VIN tag on the dash...

    I was told that was not possible.. I do have the block # here in front of me and my title in the safe.. Do you know if I can and how?

    One other note. The new block I just bought has a tag on it's side right where the casting #s are on my broken one. What I am to understand is that my busted one SHOULD have had one. But again, not sure if that is correct information.

    Numbers should be hard-stamped into the pad on the block. For instance, the last 6 numbers on my ('98 Dakota) VIN are 671803. I'm thinking those numbers should match the numbers on the block. But then, I'm prolly just reverting to my GM roots and ASSuming this is the same across all makes...

    Edit: Just looked. Nothing even close..
