You have all been a great help to me. As I get older power brakes and power steering are more important to me. The mav I am building is going to be one that I keep so I am changing things to power. I have everything located that I need for my power brakes, now I need to know what all I need to switch over to power steering. I have found someone that has all the parts that I need but I want to make sure that I get everything that I need to do the job.
What all do I need and how do I go about doing this.
    Thanks, maverickdad

I just got the stuff for a Mav brother in Mexico to do this. Obviously, the pump/reservoir and brackets. There is a piston on the suspension that the pump runs to. It goes through a cooler that mounts on the frame behind the rad on the driver's side. If you have single belt pulleys on the crank, you'll need the double belt pulleys. The parts are still available for the most part new, but good used stuff is out there. The setup I found was obviously leak free and in good shape.

Oh, yeah...The piston links between the tie rods. If you don't have a Ford manual to help you with the pictorials, I can take pictures of my undercar and how it looks under the hood if that helps.

i have the setup i pulled from my 1972 grabber when i went to manual, its all there tie rod to tie rod-pump-pit arm.
the gear box on a manual is not the same lock to lock the power box is a shorter ratio so with your manual box it will turn real easy :)
had no leaks worked good if you want it let me know

Thanks for the input. I have all the parts coming from a guy is mo. I`m also getting the power brake system with front disc. brakes. I know it`s going to be alot of work but I think it will be worth it. I`m going to a auto trans so I think it will all work out.

 i see you have a 300-6cyl. i don't know if the pump mounts are the same or you will need the brackets from a 300. there might be other things diff. if the parts you have comming are from a 300 then you should be set...frank...:bananaman :bananaman L.T.N.G.

    about power steering from manual

    Hello Frank,
All the parts I have coming are from a maverick but I have the pump and brackets from a 300 six. I may have some mounting problem but that will be hard to tell until I get started.
    Thanks, Steve
