Several people on here have T5 5-speeds including myself. It's not difficult. If you have an auto now the hardest part is rounding up clutch linkage and pedals. I used '66 Mustang linkage & Lakewood bellhousing, and a Cali. Pony Cars adaptor plate. Depending what rear you have you may need to shorten the driveshaft 'cause a T5 is longer. Also the cross member pad is farther back and lower than your trans so you have to figure out what you want to do there. I just modified the stock cross member.

Forgot to mention, you'll probably want to get a different shifter, too. The T5 shifters suck, 3rd gear is hard to find sometimes when you're in a hurry. ;) I put a Steeda Tri-Ax in mine, very nice shifting now.

Hey Barry did you have to modify the 66 z-bar and or linkage?
and do pedals from 66 mustang work?

My car was originally a manual trans so I already had the pedals. Don't know if Mustang pedals would work or not, but I kind of doubt it. As far as mods to the Mustang linkage, I lengthened the Maverick's original rod that goes through the firewall about 3/4" and repositioned the lower z-bar arm to clear the headers and Lakewood bellhousing.
