What is the difference between a Mavericks front end assembly and a Comets? Specifically, who knows if the 1969 70 Maverick Front Wheel Spindles Complete with Brakes 4 LUG will easily replace my 72 Comets... I've 4 lugs. V-8 302. 4Door. I'm slowly rebuilding the front end as resources allow but without being able to physically look at the parts ("Four Lug Maverick Spindle 70-74, with all brake parts, drum, wheel cylinders, backing plates, shoes spring & associated hardware") I really don't know if this will work. I do, however, think someone here can help! =D Thanks
According to Hollander - Any 4 lug spindle and brake set up from a 1970 to 1974 Maverick EXCEPT Mavericks made before 8/25/69 (the 69.5 cars) will interchange perfectly to your 72 Comet.
I have to add - there is a brake hose and wheel cylinder difference with the 70 model year as well - nothing that can't be swapped out or over from one car to the next - but just so you know that is another difference with the 70 model Maverick to your Comet.
