Hey, Mules are pretty cool, check out this bad boy, doesn't it make you wish that Ford would have called it a Mule instead of Maverick?

If you want a 392 Hemi why not a 427 OHC? It is just as wide and has a lot more HP than the hemi.
The reason why is that it won't fit! Not while it looks like a Maverick or Comet anyway. I suppose you could cut out the shock towers altogether and take the tunnel out to fit the bell housing of the longer, wider and higher engine. Then you could install a MII steering kit or a dropped straight axle....
Like it was said above - why go to a motor that won't fit when you can get all the HP that the chassis can take with a 302 or 351?
I like to support individuality and if you want to attempt something that has not been done or just use what's available to you at low cost thats ok but it is not wise coming to a board like this asking for approval to do a frankenstein swap into the cars we respect. You won't find much support here - as you have found out. You probably wouldn't get any more support at a chevy site because you are using a Ford to put a Chevy engine in. I think you will find that this kind of swap is one that you will find little support for from either side.

A chevy will fit in a Maverick ,there is room in there but because the rear deck lid is so small you will probadly need to pull the heads and maybe the oil pan too, if you are doing it for traction I would recomend sandbags or relocating battery to the trunk instead !

I was just joking, my blood is just as blue as any Ford lover's. I always think it's neat to see different engines in different cars after seeing so many hot rods with the same old boring 350 in them, I decided to embrace all engine swaps, well except for rice powered engines into musclecars, that's like reusing your old oil filter after changing the oil: Crap in, crap out.

What I mean is maintain a Ford as a Ford a Chevrolet as a Chevrolet and a Dodge as a Dodge. Maybe you can use a 350 GM motor in a Ford and results a funny car. I admit the mule can be nice, but naturally is an aberration. Remember Jurassic Park or Jurassic Car??

It's a joke:rofl:, you can experiment and maybe you'll create a revolutionary-hibrid automotive.:drive:. Go try and tell us about your results. Good luck!!!

I think people just want to do something different, whether or not it's cool is in the eye of the beholder.:Handshake
