RMS Grabber351 is right about RMS, and the X10 formula is a good indication not to mention a quick and easy way of figuring an amplifiers potential power. Good to see you guys look into stuff so well. Yet again I am impressed with the overall knowledge of people on this forum.:bananaman :bananaman

Actually Craig, My dad probably told me a thousand times to put a spare in there some where and Im still working on it Ha Ha. When I get a flat thats when Ill start putting the spare in and then Ill never get a flat. But its retired for the winter so I can do some things to it. 74 Maverick, Thom
I had a Maverick once with no spare. Well, you quessed it...I had a flat tire. Drove it 5 miles "riding rim" so to speak.
Help Installing Stereo and Speakers Okay, I have no knowledge of car audio, I have a 77 maverick with the original 8track in dash stereo and only one center speaker. Problem is a couple of days ago my speaker blew out...I was wondering if installing a new head unit and some new speakers would be difficult. The rear deck has what looks like 6x9 openings, but no speakers. I'm really concerned about replacing the center speaker though, seeing as to how it's lodged inside the dash. Any help will be appreciated.
Got some boom and some Boost in my trunk On both sides of the trunk are mounted PPI amps one a four channel on the passenger side and the 2 channel on the drivers side. Flush mounted and covered amp racks. Behind the cover is the box with 2 JL 10" subs. Inside are MB quart mids in the kick panels and tweets in the doors, and I forget what brand of mid is in the rear deck. The head unit is a Pioneer and also a Pioneer EQ. All this stuff is over 5 years old and has worked flawlessly.
go jL audio all the way. depending on how loud you want it you can go form the w3-w7....i would recomend like 2 w3 or a w6 and that will defintely be plenty
I've got 6x9 Sony Xplode speakers in the back and 6x6 xplodes in the front kick panels. They can handle a peak of 250 watts. My head unit is a Pioneer: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=6981457&type=product&cmp=++&id=1099388424944 I'm really happy with my system. It's got a really tight sound to it no matter how loud you crank it. Been thinking about adding an amp and maybe a sub, but overall it really sounds good. Most people think I have a sub when I turn the bass up. It'll rattle my rearview mirror and sport mirrors. It's definately LOUD.
