Mechanical vs Electrical Gages

    Until recently, mechanical gauges were always more accurate and faster responding. They also were the only gauges that had a 270 degree sweep. But nowadays, technology is such that electric gauges are more accurate (and easier to hook-up) and have the prefered 270 degree sweep. Electric are also more expensive.

    I highly recomend Autometer gauges. I have the Sport Comp models. They are mechanical, but it's nice to not have engine fluids (like oil) running into the interior of your car through the sending unit tubing, which is a benefit of electrical units...

    I have mechanical oil gauge and bought the braded stainless steel line from Summit. They sell it in a 3ft, 4ft or 6ft assembly.

    That's a good idea and I think I'm going to use that stuff when I do my engine swap. What length did you use?...

    I bought the 6ft. Its easier to coil the extra rather than stretch it if your short.
