Are 74-78 Mustang II and 70-up Maverick rear ends a direct swap (width, spring perch location, etc.)?

Even if they were...the Mustang is a 4-lug pattern that is not the same as any Maverick 4-lug pattern.

Actually, the reason I'm asking is, my Maverick parts car has an 8" 5-bolt rear, and I'm wanting to both convert my 75 M-II Mach-1 to a 5-bolt and give it a stronger rear to handle the moderately built 351 Windsor I'm dropping in it.

I've seen where some here have claimed they're interchangable....

    Just trying to confirm.
