Has anyone ever seen newer style mustang interior in a maverick or comet.? I got to looking at my girlfriends 99 mustang and noticed that the back seat has the almost same shape. And when I measured it, the back seat of her car was almost the exact same dimensions as my 76 maverick. I know that the front seats wont fit without fabricating new rails into them, seeing that the floor pans are completely different. But I thought this might be a cool idea. If the insides are close enough you might be able to use almost all of the interior. What made me think of this was all the wrecked mustangs Ive been seeing at junk yards lately. This is my 76, all original, even the paint. The only things that aren't are the rims and motor.
76 maverick, nice car!where in northeast ohio are you?i'm in geneva.good to see another maverick in the buckeye state!and on the board!what are the stats on your car?take care...chuck.
Im in Elyria, about 20 miles from Cleveland. Ive owned this car since my 16th birthday in 1996. Bought it from an old man that had it sitting in his garage since the mid 80's. Ive had thoughts of turning it into a mock Stallion but can't bring myself to repaint it. So I replaced the straight six with a 30 over 302,alluminum heads and a Edelbrock 600 carb. Fuel injection will come this summer.
Hmmmmm.? It seems as though no one has seen this.! This was a serious idea, not just something I thought up. Im actually going to try this when I find another clean Maverick. I would say there are atleast 10 wrecked 97 - 02 mustangs sitting in northeast ohio junk yards. The man at the pick-a-part told me $800 for an almost perfect mustang interior, all I have to do is pick it. I keep on hearing of people changing seats and center consoles and steering wheels, but never a whole interior swap. Im getting the photo shop program deal this week. If anyone is interested Ill post pictures of what it would look like with the mustang interior.
well, I happened to look at a 2004 Mustang today, and all I really noticed was that the front seats look to be pretty easily adaptable. Don't know about the rear, except that it's a 60/40 split. I think if you put enough effort in it, you can make it happen. Keep us posted and take lots of pics. A bit of advice, when you get the parts out the mustang, get everything that isn't welded in and most of the stuff that is whether you think you need it or not, and don't throw anything away that you took out until you're done. If you get into it and decide it's not going to happen, I bet you can at least get your money back out of it on ebay. Good luck.
