OK, Is it even possible to get traction-lok for less than 500 dollars. I might be able to sell enough stuff that I dont want to sell to raise 2 to 3 hundred dollars.
I do not have enough experience to fight width issues.
Mustangandfords.com/tech 25 cheap resto tricks says, MOST? 74 mustang lls and pinto wagons have 8 inch and ratios 3.25 and higher, some with traction-lok. Only 74s? Common sense says 4 popper autos probably will not. I have spent many hours searching threads and net, only to become more confused.
Rear ends are often cheap in this area, Mavs 50 bucks you pull it. When they pull, then and you tell them you only want 3.25 traction-lok price will sky rocket. I thought all mustang lls and pintos had 4 lug? Now what?

The only thing you want off the Mustang/Pinto is the center chunk or "pig". Put that in your 8" Maverick rear end. Since yours is a 1973.....you already have the 5-lug axles to put back in the housing once you switch "pigs".

Look for V-6 mustang too's & pintos/bobcats,they have the 8" w/3.40 or 3.55 gears.I've pirated 3 of them over the years, only one was a limited slip.Craigs right, just get the center section out,it'll fall right in place in your stock 8"(y)
