Thanks for following...hey I have a favor to ask. Frank and I went to the MNRA race last weekend and I expressed my concern about the looks and ride height of a Maverick race car and there were only 3 Mavericks that day racing and the only one that sat right was in the grass and hard to measure. Do you have a good side profile pic of your car and know what the height to the bottom of the rocker is? Im guessing 6 inches in the back and 5 in the front is what I will end up with but looking at it on the jig it looks like its not low enough. Your thoughts are appreciated. Glenn

I guess it depends on the wheels and tires you will be running......along with the suspension.......................now with that said here are a couple of pictures of my car. Unfortunately my car is on jack stands and I have the rear end/ladder bar setup out for a little R&R. My front tires are on 15" rims and they are 28.5" diameter, the rears are 15" also and I run 31" diameter M/T's. The front fender lays about even with the white letters on the tire, which is about 2.5" from the top of the tire.
I can make an estimate at least for the fronts since it is on the ground, where would you like the measurement from?
I will try and finish R&R and install the rear end next week assuming my Hernia doesn't give me problems.
Let me know how I can help.

Great pics!! Im going to use 14x32 tires under the rear and most likely front tires will be 26" tall skinny's.

Your car is allot higher than what Im thinking. Basically take your car and drop it down 4 inches or so is the look im looking for.

My measurements will be on the bottom of the rocker...an inch or two in front of the back wheel opening and and inch or so behind the front fender gap
    .
Right now my car is welded to the jig and leveled at 6 inches off theoretical ground. Im thinking of dropping it 3 more inches so the rocker is 3 inches off the ground.

In this pic the top of the I beams that run front to back is the "ground"

Is it just me or is it a little weird seeing the all too familiar blue bullet in another garage? :16suspect

(Not a bad thing at all, kind a like an old friend in a new house)

Thanks, now that I have all of the parts to put the rearend back in the car I may try and bring the body down/rearend up by adjusting the ladder setup, but I will never get it to where I'd like to have it.............at least for now.
Here are a couple of pictures of lowered Mavericks.............the purple one I would have really like to buy..............just too much money, and it was a tube frame car...................not like mine which is mostly a stock chassis car............had to be when it ran B/SM back in the late 70's.
The last picture shows my oil pan (after I ran off the end of the Redding Drag strip doing my one and only 9.8's pass.....strip is short with only one turn-off..........then 200' and open field) after I ran off the end of the strip as my manual 4 wheel drums just couldn't stop the car in time...........I only have 5" from the pan to pavement!

    Sweet car !!

Basically what Im attempting to do.

I was looking at the pics and saw he took the cowl off..hmmmm :hmmm: great idea to get the big block in the right spot. Have to explore that option but it looks like he had the hood extended to make up for the missing cowl. Also look at the way the front lip of the hood is cut back....NEAT!!!

I wonder who has the frontend molds? Do you know him where you could ask a question for me? Would like to know who made his hood and front clip.

Sorry, I didn't know the guy, just emailed him through Ebay when he had the roller for sale.
It was a real well built car that he spent a ton of $$$$$$ on.

My '72 Maverick strut front end

This is what I have been doing this winter, it is a AJE k member and their struts. I left the stock frame rails and fire wall, and a few modifications to AJE's junk.
