New reproduction fan shroud

    Be careful with the fit before you buy the D1DZ-8146AKT shroud. The part number on my shroud is D0DZ-8146B. I ordered a D1DZ-8146AKT, it being the only one I can find on the web. This shroud 'does not' work on my Non-AC 302 Comet. It does fit the radiator but the tunnel does not extend back far enough, and the fan blades are exposed behind the shroud. See picture to compare the two shrouds.

    1972 Maverick Grabber - Color: Orange Also, 1976 Ford Maverick 4-door, 1977 Mercury Comet 2-door.

    I would say the shroud would still provide some benefit.

    One could also get a longer fan spacer that would place the fan inside the "tunnel".

    Yes indeed. I installed a 3" spacer from Allstar Performance; part number 30192. Thanks for the tip. I also replaced the 4-blade rigid fan with a 5-blade flexible blade fan from the trusty parts stash.
