As my steering wheel is cracked and cruddy, I was figuring I would take a look at the pick-n-pull to see what I could find as a replacement. What other OEM steering wheels will fit a 71 maverick? Would I be safe to assume any merc or ford from the same timeline will fit?
I wouldn't think there will be that much of a differences in the steering wheels. You might even find one that looks a lot better.
Not all ford/merc steering wheels are the same. I bought the one from autokrafters which I think was listed in the mav/comet book. Its a lot different. The center shaft is different, so the pad doesnt fit, the diameter is a lot larger making it difficult to get in and out of the car. Im selling mine at half price, and rebuilding the original one I have.
When i installed my grant wheel the installation kit said that it would fit these models...so these should interchange.
