Maverick bumpers are in the works and should be on the market with in the next year or so according to AK.

That would be great, because used bumpers to rechrome for these cars can be more than repro bumpers ready to go onto more popular cars.

You are still going to be looking at around $500-$700 for the reproduction if not more. But it will be nice to have!

You think they will be that high? That's a lot more than Mustang and Camaro bumpers. No doubt they are aware that if they are priced that high they aren't going to sell as many.

Chrome products are always expensive. No to mention with a low demand item (mavericks aren't all that common) and the high production cost they are likely going to be priced fairly high at first. All new products are, and you cant really compare them to mustangs or cameros which have a MULTITUDE of venders which brings the price down. Good example is the new gas tanks, they are $400 something dollars which compared to the spectre f30 tank is very high. Those numbers are just my personal estimate after talking to the venders and seeing recent product releases but it should be somewhere around those numbers.

Also $500-$700 isn't unreasonable when you think a good core bumper is $200-$300 dollars alone and then another $300-$400 for a good chrome shop to replate it.

You have to imagine at some point the Mav/Comet will pick up SOME popularity.

it really has. There are a lot more aftermarket things now compared to 5-10 yrs ago when I was looking for parts. ie.. 70 Gas tank, Fiberglass spoiler kits, door panels.....

They will not likely be as popular as say the mustang but these cars definitely do have a fan basis and it is growing by the number of high profile maverick builds. Part of the issue is though part supplier s are weary of maverick/comet owners because for the most part they are so damn cheap... perfect example is the boomerangs. People wanted them for years they then released them and very few were sold and they have now discontinued the part.

So I guess I jumped into the game at the right time. I do have a set of front and back bumpers, but the fronts look like someone didn't know how to use their jack properly. Gonna try to bring in to the body shop this winter to see what they can do.
