Is that a front strut car? I know they changed over to the Fox platform right before they discontinued the Granada for good :)

It's an '80, which would not be a Fox platform. It's the same suspension as the '75 Granada. I doubt the rearend would be an 8-inch though. 'Probably the 8.7".

If the rear end has a back cover bolted to it, it is not an 8" :)

Lots of 1980 Granada's got the drum brake 9". Seen two of these my ownself. This was the last year(and model) for the rear leaf spring Fords in cars.

My own 9 inch disc brake rear came from a Granada Ghia with a 6 cylinder engine - go figure :hmmm:

They were an option in the Granadas and Monarchs. The first one I bought came from a 77 Monarch. And the only one of about six I've bought that had a trac-loc unit.

yeah the 9" i have for my comet came out of a 4 door 1980 302 powered granada. the gear ratio was terrible though. it was a 2.49 or something like that. i ended up swaping out the center section from a 1973 ranchero that had 3.25 in it.

There were only two ratios in the Granada/Versailles/Monarch 9, 2.50 and 2.75

250 I6 blocks are getting harder to find. Also if the cylinder head casting starts with D7 or E0 then it would be very desireble to many of the fordsix.com guys. The D7 and later heads have hardened seats and the largest intake log volume. If I were close I would buy that motor from you.

2.50 was the killer ratio my 9 inch came with - now built with a 3.89 gear set and a traction loc
