how hard is it to put a 300 in a mav? my friend down the road is pulling the 300 out of his truck and he offered it to me, has 88,000 miles on it. If its not possible to put a 300 in easily what parts are interchangeable? He said I could strip it of whatever is on it, so I want to take everything off I can before he hauls it off to scrap.
The 300 is a big block. I don't think anything will fit from it on a small block six. The 300 can be made to fit a Maverik but it won't be easy.
That sucks The alternator, fuel pump, carb, or anything else wont interchange? Would it be worth the effort to clean it up and sell it?
The external accesories will adapt - alternator, fan, and perhaps the carb is adaptable. The engine specific accesories, fuel and oil pumps water pump etc., will not.
