Hello I have a 70 mave and just come across a what i belive is a 73 mave but the owner says its a 72 but any way what parts wil interghage between 70 and 72/73 maves?

the 72/73 has all the v8 mounts and inter is black and just what i wanted but i like the small pumper of the 70 and like to save the 70 model insted of making it a parts car i like to swop the parts from the 73 to my 70 but i am willing to just make 72/73 a small bumper car if the 72/73 inter and suspention parts want work on the 70.

    thanks for any input

    Jim

All parts will swap. The only real difference in a 73 is it has a larger front bumper and a different front valance panel. Also the grill lights are parking and turn signal rather than just sport lamps. The rear bumper is the same although mounted on beefier mounts and it sticks out further. There is also a plastic filler panel to blend it in to the body better.

Whichever car is the most solid......fix it up and move the parts over from the other car.

Hello I only have money to fix up one maverick but here is the pics of my 70 model http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=10434 I will get pics of the 72/73 when i am able to get it home i have to wait for the saler to remove the engine from it. He clamed he has about 3Gs inthe engine and i told him i have my own engine and told him all i need is the car he said i could have it for $250.00

All and all it is more intak than my 70

The 72/73 has some rust out in the rear finder lips and the back Bumper missing and It is also 5 lug drums but i have a granada for the disc conversion and the 72/73 has all the mounts for the v8 has black and blue vinal inter all in great shap just needs cleaning. All glass is good he said a couple of years ago they repaced the front windshild and gaskit has no power steering no AC Or Power Brakes.

My 70 is 4 lug and inter needs all redone (I have Eclipse seats) I got for it that are in good shape and the front glass is creaked.needs ever thing up front but a hood and passanger finder I just got me a 72 bumper http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7946581789&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT
should be here tommorrow. My 70 still has the front bumper mounts the rear bumper is still on the car and it has all the str8 6cyl engine and mounts. Has power steering, AC, dont remeber if its got Power Brakes or not.

But i am thinking of useing the 72/73 mave and do the small bumper swop On it since it will be a lot of time and money saved for me.

thanks for you input on the subject

    Jim

Once i know I got ever thing i need I will be parting out what ever is left on the 70 maverick.

I know it is a shame but the car belong to may dad And sence i found a better Maverick he is going to cut the sub frame from it  to use on a 68 mustang cov he has. The frame is eat up with rust on the mustang, so yes I will be parting out some parts sooner or later to get the funds for what ever else i may need, being in school and feeding a family of 4 my budgit don't go far.

    Buy some parts

Sorry to hear your going to part out the maverick but at lest you got a better car =). I know how you most feel being on a tight budget is not cool.

Hey would you sell me some interior parts for my 77? I need a steering wheel (blue) and some seat belats, and corme tirms as well as other parts. Could you let me know if you have those parts and when/if you well sell them to me. Thanks

the interior sheetmetal on the doors are different between 72 and 73,mounting the 73 interior door opener handle, and door pull handle does require some sheet metal work. i bought a 72 door, just to find out i had to cut parts from the 73 door to be able to use my 73 interior parts. hope this makes sense, have a hard time typing what i'm trying to say.
