After the last msg from john about giving up on the adjustable bar and just bending a standard bar as reported here, 8 assumed my test fitting services were no longer needed and everyone was getting this bar unless they requested a refund.

OK.. I must have missed that memo. lol

Glad to hear things are progressing and we should be done with it all.

Now I just have to finish my high-ported RHS's to even need a bar in the first place. :biglaugh:

Thanks again for everything and the time invested in this deal. :Handshake

I emailed John this morning and this is the reply I just received...........
so it sounds like the bars are already made up and waiting for Chris to give
them the go ahead, before shipping.
keeping fingers crossed that these 1 1/8" regular bars will fit correctly....

They’re waiting for Chris to give us a thumbs up, bars will ship next week.

I was mostly involved in the fitting of the adjustable rear. My car is in pieces right now. I could not test fit a front bar if I wanted to. Others had jumped in and were contacting John and I felt there was no need to confuse the front bar situation by interjecting myself.

Coincidentally, I did happen to email John the other day after seeing that Chris received his bar. I thought they might have forgotten to ship mine. I received this reply today:

“Micah, We shipped the bar last week to Chris, he should have it today.”

So, it appears as though there is some confusion in which they assumed that Chris was going to sign off on a final fit. I too was under the assumption that this was just a thicker version of something that they already produced and was not in need of a test fit.

I agree with the remark that Chris’ car may not be the best test mule for a bar that is intended for a stock car, but Chris is probably the best judge of that. I am interested in how it works for him since I am also using the Total Control suspension but not with a drop spindle.

Chris, if you discover a way to make the previous adjustable bar work with our TC cars, I would like to see what you come up with.

So, Chris, it looks like it’s all up to you. J

Cool.. thanks Micah. Now that you mention it.. I do remember that discussion somewhere within this huge thread.

And I'm sure when this all started.. Chris probably didn't count on the custom baggage that came along with this custom bar. lol

Seem's like we're on our way towards the end result here and my car is minus the engine right now.. but I will surely bolt everything up to make sure it will fit when I really need it to.

Probably have to have a few bigger friends come over to stand on the flimsy bumpers and engine bay to make sure things are going to be all good when the engine is weighted back onto the front end.

Its mounted and fits like a stock bar. I do not like the hardware he sent with it though. Its the cheesy 5/16" with flat washer stuff. I would prefer the 3/8 with the cupped washers. the end links dont stand straight up like I prefer them to. Some longer end links would correct that. Otherwise its good.

    Chris:
Great that you got the bar installed! It has been so long, but I was just checking the bag of hardware that came with the first bar, it had longer end link bolts, bushings and both cup washers for 5/16" and 3/8" bolts. Also had those heim joints, which where fine threaded 3/8" but not the matching bolt to use them. I had to purchase a set in order to use the heims.

    Chris,
Thanks for getting that done. Please let John know your thoughts on the hardware so that we hopefully will get something better.

Why did they send flat washers when other sway-bars they offer come with cupped washers?

Clearly these guys don't give a crud about quality and just send out whatever cheap junk they have to hand.

    exactly.
they are a mass production company. they dont do the r&d on their product that is fully required. this is demonstrated by the rear sway bar frame mounting method that will tear out the bottom of the frame rail. they say they have addressed this but the method is the same.

I agree with you that the 5/16" stuff is too small, short and the flat washers will just let the bushings squash out over time. Definitely need a longer 3/8" link minimum. The bar looks nice and your suspension work is awesome.

No doubt, that setup is a joke.

so the solution is to weld the bracket to the rail?
