I was going to call them myself, but I got sidetracked... Last time I talked to them, there were no issues...I'm sure it'll all work out :)

jerry stopped by with his 7/8s rear sway bar. we came up with a plan. we are going to use exhaust clamps to attach the bar to the differential. then we are going to make a u shaped plate to go around the frame we will have 2 tabs off plate for a rod end with a female threaded portion. then we will use a bolt and the supplied bushings in the sway bar end to attach it all together.
we will take pics of the process.

While it definately seems silly for Addco to sell you guys and incomplete kit.. they obviously have the parts needed to do the job on other similar unibody cars.. so, why couldn't you guys just order the rear hardware that's used on the earlier Mustangs 7/8 rear bar setup? Or at least ask why Addco isn't planning on including that same hardware in the kit for these cars?

And for that matter.. what's so different about the 65/66 kits that we need a custom bar for the rear in the first place? The rears on these cars is only slightly shorter than the early Mustangs.. and it's not like the bars are mounted all the way to the absolute ends of the axle tube anyways, right?

Are the axle tubes leaf perch locations that much narrower to cause the issues here?

From the pic's around the internet and on some cars around here.. when comparing rear bars for the Maverick and 65/66 Mustangs.. they appear to look identical.

While that sounds good and I appreciate your work on this, once again, this is not what I paid for. I'm not into spending the time to fab something up to make it work. I would rather cancel the order for my rear and go with the standard set up that includes all the parts.

What was the contact number for them again?

    Chris,

Is there any chance i can still order mine? Do you have John's e-mail?

I live in Brazil, so it's a lot more difficult for me ordering from here.

    Thanks,
    Andrew.

Before anyone jumps to conclusions, lets wait and see what they have to say, the first of next week.

i never liked the way addco attached the rear sway bar to the frame. it rips out the sheetmetal pretty quickly. i all ways intended to not use the addco frame mounts. someone earlier mentioned that they have some sort of fix. the other thing i dont like is the bolt that goes through the bushing always ends up bent. this also creates a bind during up and down travel. by adding the rod end on the top it will give it more movement. ive see on jeeps a end link that bolts into the eye of this style swaybar that has a ball and socket type end on it. im looking into this for the sway bar end.

im sure addco would send out the full kit to install it. i just feel that addcos installation parts are mostly universal and the cheapest way to do it. i know i can do it better.

That jeep set up is nice, my sisters rubicon is so easy to take the sway bars on and off too.

I just spoke with John at Addco.

He stated that the rear 7/8 bar will come with all necessary hardware and it will be an adjustable bar. He believes that the rear bar has been completed. The front bar is still in production and should be done this week. He hopes that the bars will ship out this week.

He is going to do some double checking to make sure what he has told me is correct. He said that he will email me an update tomorrow.

Well, I hope they got it all correct and will address any concerns anyone has with their order.

I will update the list if I hear anything further.

Thanks again to Chris for getting this project going.:bananaman:2thumbs::yahoo:

    John called me today.

The rear bars are done. They will include an additional brace to help stop the u bolt from ripping through the frame.

They are waiting on material for the front bars. He hopes to be shipping them out on 4/26.

I gave up on John since he has to call the production facillity for an update anyway. I called them and talked to Sarah on Friday and apperently these had not even been started on. She couldnt tell me why only that the order was supposed to be bent and coated by Monday. So I told her I would call on Monday to see that they were done. Well, Monday was busy and I forgot to call but I did this morning. They are still on the bender and will be coming off soon. They promised to ship by next Monday at the latest. I told her I would call Monday 5/13 to check on them.
