Was there an 80's Maverick made only in Australia. Here are some clips of what looks to be a Ford Maverick or what I image a Ford Maverick would have looked in the 80s if they continued production.

Definitely not a Maverick. Looks more like an Australian version of an early Mercury Capri although it does have FORD on the hood.

If you see the movie, they show all angles of the car, it says ford in the front and the back, it has the same trim around the headlights across the hood but the headlights are squared. looks to have grabber bumpers. inside looks like early 80s datsun coupe. Razorsharp, imagine the front of your car but with squared lights.

Could be something they pieced together for the movie

Could be but that is alot of mods, I know that australia had the ford falcon xb "mad max", but these mods are too many, gas tank spout for one is on the side top, door handles inside and out, entire interior, square light mods.

Yea something like that but smaller and the gascap is behind the rear side window, between the rear window and the rear side window.

That was great, i was glued to my seat and the creatures, well what can i say...... all i needed was some popcorn. I want to own this movie badly! Now seriously i think the car does look like a Mercury Capri only the Australian version. I remember in the mid '70's down in New Brunswick when i was a kid my Aunt had a car just like that only the headlights were round (4 of 'em) and it was a Mercury Capri.:):bouncy:

I have always loved B movies, the cheaper the better hahaha. Especially zombie movies. I also like classics like "two lane blacktop". How can I add an avitar to my profile comrick?

It is a CApri, if you stop it at :44, you'll see it clearly. Either it's a model for New Zealand, or they modified it for the movie.
