If my buddy, Rick Porter, and myself aren't true Maverickers, then there is not a single cow in the state of Texas, not a single cornfield in Illinois, nor a single drop of rain in Seattle.:bouncy:

Actually, the options on the poll don't answer the question. They only adress the level of dedication, not whether or not you are a true Mavericker. That's why I didn't answer it and posted instead.

Once apon a time I was a dyed in the wool Mustang fanatic. Loved those cars to death. I got rid of my last Mustang and switched to Mavericks. To the Mustang crowd, that was a serious step down. To me, it was a new begining. If it were not for my Mavericks, I never would have met all the other great people who are Maverick and Comet owners. Don't get me wrong, I still have a soft spot for Mustangs, and would give my eye teeth to have another 69' Mach 1, but I will never regret deciding to become a Maverick owner.

I'm with you 100% Jean. I've owned more than 75 pre-74 Mustangs over the years (45 at one time) and the Mavericks are the only thing that has stayed with me. :)

I was with my wife(at the time girlfriend of 4 yrs) when I located my car in Oklahoma, she wanted to come with me to go pick it up, so we loaded some stuff in a truck, and headed down there. After the weekend trip to pick up the car, my feelings about her were solidified, I don't know too many women that would go on a road trip just to pick up a car. A couple months later I proposed, when women would ask her 'when is the wedding' she would reply 'I'll wait till he gets his car done. Two years later, the Maverick was the get away car at our wedding, left the church with smoke from the rear tires. My wife has Maverick-like tendencies.

I think I'm a Mavericker, I don't like to follow the trend, anyone can open up a catalog, and buy parts for their fox-Mustang, and 'build' their car. But making things work that weren't intended for your car, or making things for your car, is what it's all about.

I got rid of a new car and bought my maverick when I was engaged to my wife so that I could save that money towards the purchase of a home...since then, my wife has told me that I better not sell it!!! So my car has ALOT of meaning to US!!:thumbs2:

I check on mine daily to make sure it's still there. Funny part was, Stinky moved into my new house before I did and I thought that I was going to blow a gasket with it over there and me in the old house! Talk about your stress!!! (All this was without any way of starting it <still in pieces> and it was in a locked garage with the garage door opener disabled!) And to top it all off, I live in a good neighborhood!
