I don't fit any of the pole criteria I have owned 34 different fords of all types and still own nine, a Shelby,Cobra Torino,64 T-bolt clone,65 FAlcon etc etc. But always loved the 71-72 Comets so 2 years ago I bought my first one loved it so much bought a Maverick to go with it I believe I have amassed the largest private collection of NOS Maverick & Comet parts here on this forum.......does this make me a Mavericker?????

I love everybody's reaction to old posts being brought back...some like it...some want certain posts brought back...and MOST hate it with a passion!! I can understand if I brought back a for sale post from 4 years ago, but apparently some people have yet to supply their ideas to this one...what should I do next time, start a new one of the same thing? I have a suggestion...how about a system that automatically locks posts after a certain amount of time so this doesn't happen again?

    Off my soapbox now!:tiphat:

I don't mind this type of thread coming back. I'm just amazed at how you guys find these old threads once in a while ......... :bouncy:

The ones I hate are when somebody asks a question in 2006 like, "what weight oil goes in a 3 speed manual transmission", and it gets a reply in 2010 ........

I understand your frustration...I don't like those either.

I found this one after responding to a different poll question and at the bottom of the page it had about 4 other threads that they suggested were similar...I did't see that date until I was already engrossed in the discussion.:Handshake

i have owned mavericks for more than twenty years now. my wife understands my passion for the car and the hobby. and like alot of you, i have said the car will be here long after she's gone. and yes, i have spent money on my car instead of paying a bill. that includes food.
my first maverick, my ex-wife parked on a corner in chicago, and a dump truck rear cornered it. while waiting for repairs i still drove it. even when i found out the tank had a tear.
    doe's that qualify?

But I didn't get to vote!!! I have had as of now 15 of the cars over the years, currently I can't help but walk out as I am going to work in the Tahoe and as I pass the Maverick I kick it (its not running at this time) and then I stop and apologise to it and give it a hug and whisper to it "more money is coming in for you" and continue on my way to work....so can I say I'm in?

I dont have a problem reviving old posts that are relevant, or accidentally revive one or two. Deliberately revving old posts for the fun of it will result in an infraction.

Well the taboo of reviving old threads aside, I believe I can now qualify for option number one on this poll of owning my Maverick over ten years.

Also I can attest to Cathy (Mercurycruizers absolutely wonderful wife) showing the same enthusiasm as the man that I would say brought fellowship, recognition and admiration to the Maverick and Comet enthusiasts in the pacific Northwest. Perhaps not singlehandedly, but at the least as the driving force and inspiration of a west coast movement. I have not seen the sort of dedication and commitment to a bunch of scrapyard candidates from anyone else (outside of the state of Texas) *ahem DAB*

Love it!!!!!! I made this thread way back when I was a moderator for this site.......oh and I think I was 1badmav or mavowar at the time......man time flys ...... Now I have 2 mavericks both in various stages of development but both modular powered. One is a twin turbo car. Theother a high winding n/a car. One is for going strait the other for going through the twisties.
