That is true, I tend to think of those as having a white stripe and these being white walls:
Funny, White letter tires were an option then. Don't know how you get not era correct when they were a factory option.
Depends on the sidewall of the tire. I've never seen those O rings with any lettering at all, probably not enough room for it. I've never liked tires with that short a sidewall on anything, but that's just me. I prefer a taller sidewall and smaller wheel. The sidewall is where your ride quality comes from, and those shortys ride firm and harsh to me.
That yellow car would look better with 15's IMHO. Wagon wheels are for ricers!
No doubt about that.
And no.. not really that much different other than the fact that we worried about solvent paints popping thier lids from the heat by the time we made it to the jobsites around Dallas.
But here in Minneapolis we just worry about it freezing on the way to the jobsites.
I started painting in Dallas at the age of 16.. and it was a horrible enough experience that I tried like hell to get away from it for the next few years. Needless to say, almost 30 years later.. I failed to do that.
I said white walls not white letters.
View image in galleryBlack walls have grown on me, especially on mismatched tire sizes or brands for that matter.
white letters out
Theres not enough tire there for any kind of letter, But your car is sweet looking.
I voted white letters out. Ive seen a few sets of those cooper cobras with the white letters out and they look SHARP! also some guys paint or color the letters to match the color of there car. Ive seen guys with yellow cars and yellow letters on there tires
I voted black walls out because I hate trying to keep the raised white letters white - even back in the day, I mounted my tires black side out
Not only white letters out, but keep all the other blue and other markings on, so the tires look new.
I told the guys to not wash my tires off. Make my ugly old car look like it at least has new tires.
I like my white letters.
I like the White Letters out, but right now I have both - White letters in back and Black wall in front. When I get my new rims I will install white letter tires on all 4 of them. I also like the solid block letters better then the outlined letters.
I voted white letters out. Just like on my own car ...
Id say black out. The white letters just distract too much for my taste.
agree its your car, do what you like
Black side out. I don't know why people feel the need to advertise what brand of tires they're running. It's also more work to keep them scrubbed clean & white (they look atrocious when dirty).
Separate names with a comma.
