Is there any difference in a v8 and a 250 6 cylinder radiator? I was looking for one online and it showed the 250 and v8 using the same radiator. Anyone know for certain?

Mine is a 3 row for a 302 with air conditioning. It's different than the 302 w/o air and 250ci. For the money I paid for it, I would buy the Champion rad some of the other guys are using.

I have one from a 250 6 cylinder that had air, and it is a three row. I think it should be adequate. Any cooling problems with yours? I just don't want to have it cooked and pressure tested if it's not going to do the job. Thanks.

On a hot Atlanta day in traffic, it creeps up to around 210°F with the air on. I have an otherwise stock 5.0l EFI motor with a 192°F thermostat. Seems to do ok and if you already have one, it's not that much by comparison to get repaired. You definitely want them to rod out the tubes though.

A good cooling fan is key to it running cool. The engine driven 7 blade it had before would allow it to get up to 230°F in traffic, but it was an automatic back then.

Thanks for the reply. I think I'll take my chances with it. This is a low budget build and I don't want to get alot of money wrapped up in it. The car is a band tribute car that I am building for my nephews and I already have a pile in it.

I'm with you on that one. I bought mine back in the late 90's and it just started leaking last year. Spent about $75 to get it fixed and rodded and it went right back in. You should be fine temp wise.

just to get anothers opinion. You think a 200's but re-cored would work out fine? With an electric fan and lower temp thermostat.

Yes, some 250's and 302's used the same radiators. FWIW the Maverick had 10 different part numbers when it came to radiators. Most of them have the same size core dimensions, but different part number. I know the tank size changed at some point. http://dixiemaverick.com/DMradiator.html
