Terry they are Yates heads sittin on a Dart Iron Eagle Pro series block with some pretty nice internal goodies. Rick the only reason I could afford is because I've been bustin my hump and biding my time, saving everything I could in the hopes of finding a motor like this and not have to spend 20 grand on it from Keith Craft or Bennett Racing to get it. The little truck is doin great...poppin wheelies and runnin 6.20's all day long since we got it geared right. Don I thought it couldn't get any louder...this thing sounds like cherry bombs going off at your feet. Im talkin old type cherry bombs not the little firecrackers they got nowadays. Dave the "old" motor is being freshened right now and I'm gonna sell it as a complete motor....someones gonna get a helluva deal on it
I wish I could run them numbers in 1/4 mile I forgot they don't have 1/8th mile tracks on the left coast That said...7 seconds is a good possibility on the NOS in the 1/4 mile with the right gearing. This motor winds up in a hurry so I put the 4.56 back in it for 1/8th mile, probably will need a 4.11 for the 1/4.
Ray I'm gonna be racing at Irvington Sept. 5-6...it would be good to see you and the missus if you could make it out there. Bracket racing Fri. night and King of the Track Saturday night...Saturday nights race will be for a Wally...we don't get the oppurtunity to win a Wally around here so I thought I'd come down and try to steal one from the Alabama boys....
Cool!!! Keep me posted when the time gets closer. I'd love to go...may even make a few passes with mine just to play around. I'm actually planning on doing that maybe this weekend. The Irvington track is only about 15-20 miles from me. Hope to see ya then!
Good luck with the try for the Wally Rick. I still like to look at mine every now and then....Okay, all the time.
OK, I tend to think in 1/4 mile races. We do have some 1/8 mile racing for the rice burners but most of the real racers run the 1/4 mile track.
Ow, PaulS. If you would've put a smiley behind your post, I probably wouldn't have concluded that you're pretty ignorant when it comes to drag racing. I'm guessing you've never run the 1/8th (or maybe even the 1/4?). I could be wrong though - just like you are about "real racers" only run 1/4 mile. That's simply a false statement you made. Now, take it back you big meany! FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!bananaman:bananaman
