How many of you found a Boss 302 in the wreckers? I did. Bought the engine as a regular 302. 100 or 200 bucks I cant remember which one. Depends who was working at the time. They had no idea what they had. Spotted the screw in freeze plugs and almost had a heart attack. The car was on its side and beyond rotten. Cougar, nothing else left. No trans or diff. Just that big engine rusting away. Sold it at a swap meet. Should have kept it.:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

I was in the process of building my first Mav at the time. No way I could have afforded to build a Boss 302 and install it. The money from it did go to the Mav. I may have drank some of it but most went to the Mav.:)

I also got a factory Ford small block magneto dizzy. Free for a Holley overhaul. No idea what it could have came from. We assumed some racing program(open wheel?) or commercial use maybe marine? I know I sold it real fast at a swap meet for 300 bucks and the guy who gave it to me got a beating from his old man. Turns out he was trading and selling his Dads car parts to build his 454 Camaro. Funny part is that he use to mock me saying my car would never see the road. Thanx to some of the real cheap parts I got from him I smoked his big block twice in a row. The second run he left and went home with out a word. The mav ran a 12.90 to his 13.80 :)
Still to this day I have never seen another magneto like that one.
