Hi guys, so moving my axle a 1/4" to the left will not affect drive line angles or cause vibrations or anything right? It doesn't seem like it would with the u joints but I don't know for sure. any help would be appreciated!

In general, if the tailshaft of the tranny was pointed perfectly straight at the pinion and there was no angles being applied to the u-joints, the driveshaft would wobble. There has to be a small amount of angle involved to make the the u-joints work right.

All that being said, moving it like you plan should be an improvement as Frank has stated. You will still have angularity involved horizontally front-to-rear. If redoing the leaf spring perches, it would be a great time to check the tailshaft angle and make sure the pinion angle is parallel.

Note .... I saw the words "Gabriel Load Carrying Shocks" .... not good. I take it, they are the shocks with springs on them. Similar to air shocks, eventually you risk ripping out the upper shock mounts. You really want the springs to carry the weight, and the shocks to control the dynamics of everything moving. With saggy springs, I wonder if that is also affecting the location of the axle. It really would be where I would start, and proceed from there. Has this car also been crutched with extended shackles? That could add to sloppiness.

Look up some discussions on leaf springs here and you will get some ideas. Look at ride heights pictured.
