I know this is probably easy for some of you guys, but what other cars should I ask the girl behind the counter to look up when trying to buy the rear bushings for my leaf springs? I've asked for Mavericks/Comets/Mustangs/Torinos with no luck. Also, to the dragsters in here, should I have aluminum ones built instead? The Caltracs come with aluminum bushings on front - just wondering. Thanks, Rick
Rick; I don't know how much help this will be to you, but I got some polyurethane bushings for the rear springs of my Mav from some outfit called "Just Suspension, Inc" in Faifield, New Jersey. Their phone number is (973) 808-0066. I can't report on how well they fit, or work, as I haven't installed them yet. Good luck. John B.
I decided about 15 years ago to put polyurethane bushings in my Mav's rear springs. Back then you could only find them for Mustangs and Camaros. So I bought the Mustang parts and they were larger in diameter than the Mav's spring eyes. Had to turn them down in a lathe. They've worked good ever since. So even if the girl behind the counter had the Mustang pieces, they wouldn't fit.
Thanks for the info John. BM Re: "but they wouldn't fit" 'Never stopped the little girl behind the counter from selling anything ELSE that didn't fit!
