I know that early Mustang front coils can be used on a Mav/Comet but what about the rear springs?Do they interchange with any other car?

Well, is this is for your '72, here goes.

I know there must be others, but these are
    listed in the interchange guide:

    Comet -- '71 - '75
    Maverick -- '70 - '75

    Measuerments are given as:

    2 1/2 x 23 9/16 x 31 7/16

No. Only Maverick/Comet rear springs will fit on a Maverick/Comet. The Mav/Com leaf springs are longer than a Mustang's.

Someone on here has falcon springs on his car and says it moves the axle forward about an inch. I think it might be Fordman.

Thanks guys. I think I'll just order a set from ESPO or Eaton. The springs on the car now are only 3 leaf and are worn out. I think 4 or 5 leaves made for 2inch lowering ought to do it.
