My car is currently set up with a Ford 9 inch rear end and slapper type traction bars. The shocks mount forward of the axle in a non staggered formation with the lower portion of the shock attached to a bracket that is welded to the traction bar. My problem is that I just ordered some low profile Cal-Tracs and when I remove the traction bars to complete the install, I will no longer have a lower shock mount. Does anyone have any knowledge of a factory type shock mount that attaches under the leaf and between the Cal-Trac or will I need to fabricate my own?? Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Now that would simplify everything . I guess I should have waited for the new parts to arrive before asking the question.............
Cal trace should have provided the option to pick where you want your shock mounts to be located and what type of shock end attachment you want to use. I picked shock mounts that would take eye ends on the shocks versus the stud type.
When I ordered my Cal Tracs I specified that I had a 70 and questioned regarding the lower shock mount. No problem arrived with the correct setup.
when I made mine, I used a stock shock plate for them... post #18 http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=68716&page=2
Thanks for the help/ideas everyone! I did call Calvert Racing and confirmed that with the specs I gave them for my car (IE: housing diameter, shock location/configuration, etc..) that they will include the correct bottom plates with the shock mount already welded in place.
