I'm wondering if anyone can tell me why I"m still getting a vibration in the rear ... I have a 1976 ford Maverick ... I've changed the universal joints, the shocks, and put brand new tires and rims ( also balanced) .. I had the driveshaft balanced also !!! any ideas ??

worn out transmission mount and or motor mounts will cause a drive shaft vibration. also check that you have the right diameter u-joint caps on the u-joint where it seats into the yoke on the diff. they require what is called a big ford 1310 cap.

    Describe the vibe to us.

I have been fighting one for years, and found that it was exhaust drone the entire time.

I have verified this by modifying the exhaust, only to move the rpm range of the drone, but not cancelling it out.

low or lack of lube? pinion/axle brng? bent axle? brake drum? went through simular issue on 9in in a f100, had to put the rear up on stands and run it to find bent axle.
    good luck brother
